Great post. If I were to do the flip-side,some working cultures or groups avoid apology as it shows weakness.
Which is why some individuals move to excuses rather than taking responsibility.
Like the new recruit in the army line-up. The sergeants asks for a volunteer for privy duty, the new soldier doesn’t move. The other members of the line up know the game and all take a step back.
I guess being self-employed enable you to make a point of difference, by being proactive.
I know small businesses owners would prefer direct communication — there’s no time to waste. Things have to be done.
I was thinking of how excuse culture can thrive in larger organisations . Where staff can learn by experience that owning up does not pay!
