What’s Wrong With You?
What’s wrong with me? No, what’s wrong with you? How could you be so blind to see? How could you be so deaf to hear? The people dying? The children crying? They turn to us and we turn away. Our fellow humans. People just like us, with lives just like us, with families just like us! How can we be so egotististically, narcissistically full of ourselves to the point of turning the other cheek? We turn away from our own kind. Not a species in this world like us. Scared like us. Conceited like us. So driven by greed like us. We kill our own species in mass genocide for the benefit of the few and we are the most intelligent species? You only care for yourselves, YOUR well being. And yet you look to others and wonder where the empathy and sympathy has gone? You reap what you sow. If you only care about yourself, why would others care about you? People are dying and you are in your perfect globe of ignorance. You ask what’s wrong with me? I ask you to look at the injustice in this world but you refuse. You refuse to see the poverty, the starvation, war, oppression, abuse, greed, filth, pollution, and the rapidly descending infrastructure of societies. We get out of line and they add more rope. We put a wrench in the system and they rebuild it bigger and better than before. What’s wrong with me is that I cannot comprehend the self-absorbtion and voluntary ignorance of the human race. I cannot understand how we let those of our own species die because it quote "doesn’t affect me". It’s pitiful, despicable, disgusting, and repulsively repugnant vitriol we have for others as we gorge on gluttony. How can you not care? For others? For our dying planet? Our only planet, mind you. The lack of sympathy is astounding and you have the audacity to ask what’s wrong with me when I see you for the problem you are.
