You made a great point from the interviewer’s side: “people hire who they like.” Being on the interviewer side many times I can confirm that. Companies and teams are hiring more now for culture fit I have noticed. If I am considering a candidate with less experience and great personality and another with loads of experience and poor personality, I will likely lean towards the former candidate. For the same reason: “do I want to work with this person for 8 hours a day?”
