Simple Harmonic Motion

As I saw her, rapturous phychedelia rushed through my veins. She had the darkest eyes brimming with Cupid like innocence. The lab was empty as she was early. Throwing a curious look around, she gingerly coerced the gate cracked open while I was busy inhaling every bit of her presence.
As it was nearing 10 am, the students began to rush in. The anticipation of the first physics lab was almost palpable as the nervous whispers echoed on. Moments later, the teacher boomed in, injecting the room with an awkward silence. The lab lecture began and she got herself immersed in taking notes and following instructions. All I could do was just to stare.
Then I spotted him ogling her with that nasty look on his face. As she scribbled on obliviously, pure jealousy raked my heart.
As time flew by I saw her falling for his charm. I saw them laugh together. Saw them come closer. I saw them falling in love or was it love? I wanted to talk to her, warn her. Guilt, rage, jealousy, hatred sliced my heart into pieces.
…..I found her in the lab hunching over her desk, sobbing. I knew what was coming.
I asked her what happened. But she didn’t hear me. I tried to console her while my own world was somersaulting in the earthquake of guilt. But she couldn’t hear me.
Call me a coward. But what can I say? What can I do? After all, I’m just a pendulum in the lab, swinging in simple harmonic oscillation......
