David Bowie models how to become an original entrepreneur without fear.

I see David Bowie as a creative experience-sharer with a prosperity strategy.

The celebrity influencer marketing era will come to an end at some point. Bowie is its opposite. This will disrupt everything in a good way. Learn how we got here, why it’s time to leave, and the coming Experience-Sharing Age.

Bowie made no sense to me. I liked the music but could not understand the fuss. Why was he such a big deal? Now, I get it. He gave today’s LGBTQ people the freedom to come out of the closet, be productive members, and have confidence in themselves. This gives me courage. My role is easier.

Here’s a quick view of the marketing economy from an insider who flew through these transitions. I made $17M in 20 years, had a lifestyle business before the 4-hour work week, a virtual passive-income company built without social media, and played in the sandbox of what’s next all this time.

What kept me from freedom, satisfaction, and happiness without compromise and results was a kernal of unworthiness. I’ve peeled the onion for years, and now release the inner acorn a bit at a time daily. I thought the climb to the top of social mattered. Now I know it doesn’t.

I’m an expert in the experience of inner transformation and being a successful entrepreneur without funding. Direct experience of a domain and life will become the currency of the future. Marketing dies. This is my wealth strategy. I don’t need social media. I need to be visible somewhere.

Here’s how the process works.

Don’t think about it like a social scientist. Think about your own experience during these phases.

What did you do?

I’ll outline the process and then below take you through the marketing eras, what was going on, and my experience in them.

CREATION

  1. The rules are set, winners are in evidence, and follow the leader's rules.
  2. Doubts emerge as a pioneer disrupts the thought process.
  3. Fear projects back onto what’s new from the majority who believe rules.
  4. The pioneer that annoys, irritates, or offends becomes a threat.
  5. Early believers follow fast with a flood of speculators and opportunists.

FORMATION

  1. The pioneer becomes a movement that emerges with a label.
  2. Hard lines draw as those for and against face off against each other.
  3. Opportunists find ways to extract wealth from the market.
  4. Elevated leaders channel believer energy or become prideful.
  5. Groups harden into factions stuck in beliefs, opinions, and convictions.

DESTRUCTION

  1. Pioneer becomes an icon elevated, or a false prophet worshipped.
  2. Opportunists control systems and extract as much money as possible.
  3. Factions split, soften, or calcify depending on societal conditions.
  4. Regular people swivel from side to side, unable to know who to believe.
  5. The market in the wings moves into the later stages of creation.

REBIRTH

  1. What’s new goes mainstream and feels elevating like a new Era.
  2. Opportunists oppose carefully as it’s impossible to resist.
  3. Conventional wisdom holds on to its beliefs, opinions, and convictions.
  4. Regular people feel it’s safe to engage and change their ways.
  5. Resisters huddle down in the bunker and throw bombs outside.

An expert can plot the interrelationships between these patterns, their overlap, and the specifics on a map.

I’m an expert on being in the trenches of several industries as they rose and fell over my lifetime on the front lines of trying to succeed in them.

I’ll share how my subjective data below compares to the model above.

My ideas will not be valuable except for entrepreneurs who want success. It’s about clarity for action.

This article will not end up in a journal. We want wealth, freedom, and happiness, not to get the facts perfect.

Be Like Mike Era

  1. Product marketing dominates the land. It’s the age of product as hero, retail channels, and consumer brand marketing. I worked in the industry and had first hand experience in a variety of businesses.
  2. Cracks emerge as technology comes fast and furious in the form of the internet, social media, and mobile disrupting the product marketing industry. I jumped in and attended a lot of conferences about Google.
  3. The industry begins to take control which prompts more than hand-ringing as companies engage in a war with the new advertising industry, and I sat in a lot of meetings with people fighting against what’s new.
  4. What was called social media marketing becomes marketing, from the side new areas emerge that overwhelms product companies. I was out of my distribution business and jumped into whatever was next.
  5. People like me who loved the change gave way to speculators, hucksters, and big money outside the industry that saw a way to increase itself in size, scope, and influence. I started to hate it all.

Lead Generation Dominates

  1. Digital technologies meet marketers who always knew how to persuade individuals to buy things using fear of lack tricks to motivate purchase. Google elevates as the leader. I went to their events and liked them.
  2. The industry splits into factions. I attended conferences with names like Inbound and Outbound. Sales thinks marketing can’t get good leads and marketing thinks sales can’t close them. Everybody embraces digital.
  3. Spammers, affiliate marketers, and content automaters play in the sandbox confusing and annoying me and everybody else with their tricks. I figured out how to position, target, and convert with honor.
  4. Using networking, social media, and lead generation I got a bunch of jobs, met tons of people, and made money. I sold early-stage AI that worked, rolled through a bunch of tech startups, and enjoyed change.
  5. Giving up on the idea that taking sales jobs in an emerging market was a good idea, I took the leap and started a lead generation and sales outsourcing company. It worked right away. The industry solidified.

Social Media Rises

  1. The promise of Google fades as the idea of winning that battle feels impossible. I lose interest in it but watch more technical folks master the game. My eye turns towards the socials and notice content change.
  2. Lead generation gets hard as the big corporate bots take charge of the systems. High-quality outreach is blocked as spam, and derided as villainous by those who label their content spam high-quality content.
  3. The promise of content as king and lead generation fades as it all feels like marketing garbage on the Google trashcan. The winners are the ones with the most money. The argument seems silly. It’s all crappy.
  4. People who run companies, who want to succeed, and hope to thrive in confusing times want nothing to do with any of it now. The excitement of the new faded. We just want to make money and have a system.
  5. Another creation cycle preparing itself on the wings gets ready for its moment in the sun. The social media celebrities on the sidelines polish up their personal brands, content using storytelling, and funnel offers.

Celebrity as Currency

  1. Instead of Michael Jordon at the top it’s the niche. This happens on social media as high-quality attractive characters burst into public view fast. I jumped in and started a bunch of communities and companies.
  2. Those who made millions doing lead generation struggle to figure out how to adapt. Social personality is not the same as hunkering down looking at data analytics. We are in the age of celebrity not conversion.
  3. The marketers who built the lead generation, google search, affiliate network, and ad unit businesses think what they are doing matters. That’s because it works. The definition of works is money extraction.
  4. Coaches, business owners, entrepreneurs, service providers venture out into the land of celebrity, probed by an army of coaches who teach them how to write, talk, and think. Feeling exhausted everybody groans.
  5. Those who ignore the circus decide not to engage. It appears that everybody doing the same thing, following the same leaders, and hoping to climb social media mountain will end up at the bottom.

Experience-Sharing Economy

  1. Passive-income millionaires who succeeded at social media branding, creating attractive characters, and communities as pipelines sit on top of the empires. The allure fades and programs get harder to fill.
  2. People in private rooms talk about when the house of cards will fall. A few venture out with new ideas. An early-adopter groups emerges. We find each other. The Experience-Sharing Economy begins.
  3. The small group disrupts by talking differently, not believing in the beliefs, and sharing heretical ideas that appear unsound in public. Regular people need social proof evidence to know what’s real.
  4. Overnight successes come in fast bursts as the pioneers and early adopters cut through to the regular folks exhausted by the marketing, technology, and authentic storytelling content that becomes new spam.
  5. The market is caught by surprise. People decide to find themselves, not be an imposter with syndrome, and fully share experience subjectively. Build it, be visible, and they come. Working on my business goes away.

The Experience-Sharing Economy fully emerges as it’s new when enough people are tired and ready. It happens automatically. Just be clearly visible.

Why is it close to bursting forward with energy and momentum?

  1. Powerful spiritual energy shifts connect with pioneers (what’s next) who pull this into our realm of existence, hone and refine it, and bring it into useful modalities, healing systems, and shifts in how to live on Earth.
  2. Individuals like me crushed by the constant changes surging through the economy after years of trial and error decide to solve the problem. I want a permanent prosperity strategy and won’t compromise on it.
  3. People tire of celebrity culture. The idea of being like Michael Jordon makes sense, as he accomplished something. I went to the Reebok and Gatorade National Conventions, MAGIC, and the energy was palpable.
  4. The extraction industry has exhausted this tired trend, and the latest and greatest niche, social media celebrities, attract clients that aggravate them. Fear-based marketing will die. Nobody gets better.
  5. Society wants to come together, stop fighting over silly beliefs, and learn how to heal from the wounds of race, class, and ethnic divisions. The head turner regular people want different. The future is YOU being YOU.

If you are out on this edge keep going.

They will get it.

Don’t despair.

Find your people.

Ignore doubters.

Fear is the enemy.

Make it fun.

Being authentic because you found yourself is not the same as taking a course on authenticity.

The inner journey brings unlimited wealth. My heroes proved this. I’ve been on this journey for long enough to know success is inevitable.

When the hucksters flood in after we elevate up and out it won’t matter. They won’t realize it won’t work at first. I’m inviting them to join. They think I’m pitching back, even though I’m sharing my experience.

Here’s why this time is different. There are no factions when the game is elevation, compassion, and coming together across the globe as ONE.
