Meet the Chief Risk Officer: Chris Barrett

Chris Barrett is Leading Consultant in charge of Financial Institutions Risk Management at global consultancy firm Nestor Advisors. Prior to that Mr. Barrett occupied a position of a Senior Partner and Chief Financial Advisor for Central and Eastern Europe at PwC, where he was responsible for corporate finance practice, business evaluations, and advising banks, insurance and investment companies.

Over his more than 40 years long career in international finance Mr. Barrett obtained a huge experience in account receivables management. Thanks to his experience of in investigating several major corporate financial fraud cases he become one of the leading authorities in mitigating trade finance fraud risks. He believes that ‘distributed ledger technology becomes an integral part of modern risk management infrastructure. It’s vital for businesses involving a large number of transactions such as P2P financial platforms’.

Chris Barrett holds a graduate degree from University of Cambridge and MBA degree from Kingston University. He speaks four languages, contributes to financial magazines and frequently participates as an expert in leading insurance and risk management conferences.
