Introducing: Responses

Discuss any link on the web

Refind is the home for the best links on the web. So far you could save and discover great links, but what if you wanted to write a thoughtful response, or summarize the content of a link for you and others? This was not possible until today. We’ve heard you and added a new feature: Responses.

Compared to all the other places you can comment on the web, conversations on Refind are not fragmented or dispersed in social circles, but revolve around the same link. So if you want to know what the world thinks about a link, you can simply look it up in Refind.

Here’s an example: https://refind.com/link/2136766

A link can have responses, and a response can have comments.

Highlights

You can also highlight text on a web page and save it as a response. So far we added this only to the Chrome extension, but if we see this being used, we’ll bring it to other browsers and to iOS/Android too.

1. Highlight text on the page, 2. Save to Refind, 3. Save highlighted text
Your highlight shows up as a response on the link on Refind.

Notifications

You’ll get a notification when someone responds to a link you saved or comments on a response to alert you to interesting insights from other Refinders.

These types of notifications are highlighted on your notification page.

This first version of Responses allows you to provide and find deep insights on the most interesting links. Our TODO list is long and in the near future we will be improving the UX and listen to where you’d like to see us taking this new feature! As always, let us know here: @refindcom

Happy discussions!
