The Cacophony of Phony Sounds

Why do we complain about our government leaders, environment, poverty, health care, racism, Islamophobia, etc. in a cacophony of disabled voices? It is as if somehow our dissonant songs together spit out like broken metaphors while revealing the dirt in souls peppered with expletives that push like excavators into corrupt trash to make a better day — but the refuse keeps piling up like the excrement of our useless verbiage, doesn’t it? The plethora of poorly aimed broken arrows are falling a few feet in front of you, while somehow, someway, you think the inflation of your egos is carrying the point of your arrows drawn on the loose strings of your prideful bows far away.

Don’t live in the fog of error unable to see the way out, but understand the power of a breaking dawn and begin moving towards it — imagine the world a better place and begin acting upon your imaginative meanderings. What are the steps you need to take? Turn your weapons of words into plows and begin preparing the ground for seeds of new hope — come together under Allah, and fill the public meeting places with renewed faith watered by truth, and flourished with understanding. Your brothers and sisters are not just those of your tribe, they are the ones whose hearts are beating in time with yours and moving in unity — they are black, Christian, white, Jewish, Muslim, Middle Eastern, Sikhs; they are humanity listening to the voice of Allah calling for peace and love for this is His true Purpose. My brothers and sisters, learn to talk with each other and not against each other — quit moving towards destruction, and move towards the light instead.

Let your words be droplets of rain on barren ground, let your imaginations reveal fruit bearing trees of goodness and flowing streams of truth and knowledge, let wisdom pour from your hearts in places where violence produces wildernesses of darkness. Let the reality of Allah overcome the illusion of death — can you see the Dawn breaking now?

“There is no life without dialogue. And in the major part of the world, dialogue has been replaced today by polemics…Day and night, thousands of voices, each carrying on its own tumultuous monologue, pour out on the people of the world a torrent of mystifying words, attacks, defenses, and over-excitement.” ~ Albert Camus, The Artist as Witness of Freedom, commentary, December 1, 1949
