Family Picnics in London? No Problem

London may be famous for being a “concrete city”, this beautiful city offers the perfect spots for locals and tourists alike to rest and relax in the outdoors. Picnics and barbecues are popular activities, especially when the weather becomes warmer and the flowers are in full bloom.

If you are staying at some of the hotels near Soho, London residents recommend the following to tourists:

Primrose Hill

One such place is Primrose Hill which is in Regent’s Park in Camden. This place is often visited by London’s high society for picnics because it provides a stunning bird’s eye view of the London cityscape.

In the middle of London is Hyde Park, with its wide picnic spaces and beautiful plants and trees and the famous Speaker’s Corner where many great thinkers and debaters of the golden days have used as a soapbox for their ideas. The Diana Memorial Playground can also be found there, where your kids can play while you relax.

Victoria Park

Another great picnic and relaxation area is Victoria Park, found at the Eastern-most part of North East London. You can watch house boats cruising by on the nearby Regent’s Canal, as well as enjoy the park’s stately trees and wide-open fields, perfect for barbeques, picnics, or simple relaxation.

Richmond Park

In west London, you could find one of the largest and most natural parks in the city called Richmond Park. A huge, 8–5-kilometer area, it is the perfect reserve for deer. It was a popular hunting ground for past kings and other members of the royal family.

Don’t be surprised to see deer roaming around. The numerous old trees and fresh flowers and wildlife make it an ideal place for nature lovers.

Hyde Park

Also known as a Royal Park, Hyde Park is right in the heart of London. It has a wide green space laden with lovely botanical plants and trees. The Speaker’s Corner within the park is a popular destination for guests, as well as the Diana Memorial Playground. Also in the park is the Serpentine Lake, where guests can feed the swans and ducks.

If you are staying at a bed and breakfast in Gower Street, going to these different parks are easier and faster.
