I really believe the “hype culture” in England kills a ton of careers. Unproven guys (at the highest level) like Harry Kane, Vardy or Sterling are called world class after one 20 goal season. Naturally, people believe that B.S. and everyone is shocked when Iceland beats all those “world class players”.

Leroy Sane is a really nice player with tons of potential, but Bayern didn’t want him and Jogi Löw gave him like 5 garbage time minutes during the Euros. It takes time before the German public and media calls somebody “world class”. “World class” means that you are one of the best in the world at your position. Neuer, Boateng, Kroos and Müller are the only German players who are called world class, that’s it. In England “world class” means “has scored 10+ goals and is young”.

If you want to see a REAL talent, check out Joshua Kimmich. That guy has started in crucial UCL games for Bayern and was voted into the Best XI of Euro 2016. Now THAT’S a talent, Renato Sanches also deserves some credit.

Maybe one of those guys listed above will become “world class” one day.
