Day 14 | Quick Nostalgia
I didn’t think I’d say this, but I miss school.
So I consider myself entrepreneurial, the kind that believes learning by doing is better than sitting in a lecture hall, although in my case since I went to a liberal arts college, a small classroom capped at 19 people.
So about two days ago, I went to the shopping day at Harvard Kennedy School, mostly because my friend who were starting at MIT and another friend from college were considering cross registration and asked if I wanted to come along. That’s what happens if you’re friends with nerds. I said yes.
Then, 9 in the morning, bright and early, I was sitting in a classroom getting the syllabus and looking confused and excited as if I was actually starting school. Then, two hours later, I walked out more tired than after a week of work.
But today, after having dinner with two girls who were still in college, I felt differently. They reminded me of how pure and one dimensional my problems were back then, how little I had to care and how guilt-free I was spending my parents’ money and not making any on my own.
God damn the conscience.
