Hate crime expert says ‘Donald Trump is the new face of white supremacy’

The premise isn’t new. Neither is the evidence that racism is profound in Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

Just read the news of his xenophobic comments regarding Hispanics. Or the assaults against African Americans at his campaign events. Or the attacks on immigrants by his supporters, who credit Trump for their antagonism.

Or better yet, read the words of hate crime expert Dr. Randy Blazak, associate professor of sociology at Portland State University and director of the Hate Crime Research Network.

In his first-person observation that was released through multiple media in August, Blazak noted:

As an expert on hate, I am more than comfortable stating that either Trump is a virulent racist or that he is willing to perform racism and use racism of others to advance his political position.
Trump represents a frightening trend of convenient racism rooted in a belief that America was great before ethnic and racial minorities, women, and sexual minorities wanted equal rights.

Blazak continues in-depth in observation (both professional and personal) with many examples in his 3,500-word discourse on Trump. It’s a must-read.
