Scooter’s Coffee: Caffeine on the go!
In the busyness of life, sometimes we just need that quick grab and go while going on about our day. Whether it’s a snack, or in my case, coffee — as long as it’s tasty and keeps you moving, it is never too much to explore a simple drive-thru. As I was traveling through the Orlando area, I noticed what appeared to be a new coffee shop. I looked closer and not only was it a place that served coffee, but it was actually a coffee drive-thru! I had never heard of Scooter’s Coffee Drive-Thru so I, being the coffee lover I am, decided it was worth a little detour. To further my surprise, the location had just opened on March 3rd, so no wonder it seemed so new.
Background/History of Scooter’s Coffee
After the unplanned visit, I explored and searched up Scooter’s Coffee, as I was intrigued by the establishment year of 1998. It turns out they launched their very first location in 1998 in Bellevue, Nebraska, known as the “Scooter Java Express” at the time. The business decided to keep their name along the lines of a “Scooter” theme, in efforts to express the idea of having customers in and out quickly (speedy service/drive-thru). As I continued to read through the information provided on Scooter’s Coffee, I was also impressed at the fact that they use only the top 10% of specialty coffee beans. Not only do they prioritize the local coffee drinker on the go, but they ensure you get the best blend you can in every cup!
Smiley Face Stickers
Another fun fact is that one of the cofounders started to put smiley face stickers on all their drinks all the way back in 1998. This was her way of encouraging each person to have the best day as they were sent on their way from the drive-thru. This has become such a staple and trend on their beverage cups, that they still put the smiley face stickers on them to this day! They even incorporated the theme of the smiley faces in their app, so as you spend $1, you earn 3 smiley faces in return. Once you have collected 180 smiles, you have the ability to then get a free drink! I don’t know about you, but that surely puts a smile on my face. ◡̈
The Caramelicious®
Now after all these fun facts, you’re probably wondering, but what about the coffee itself? Well it would be completely unfair to not mention the beverage that Scooter’s Coffee is known for. The Caramelicious® is a perfect blend of sweetness including espresso, milk, and of course, caramel sauce and is known as Scooter’s Coffee signature beverage. Every first time visitor is recommended to try this beverage as it is just that good — it blends together coffee with a sweet kick that will keep you going as you travel through this drive-thru. It is served hot, iced, or blended and it can even have a fun twist depending on the season (Sea Salt, Praline, Pumpkin — you name it!).
Personal Takeaway
Though I do genuinely enjoy pulling up to a local coffee shop and sticking around for a while, Scooter’s Coffee was a pleasant switch up as it was the pick-me-up needed while on the road. Not only was the coffee flavorful, but the people serving you your order were beyond kind. The smiley face sticker was also a sweet touch that simply brightened your day just by seeing it. Above all else, their selection of beverages seemed endless — from hot, to iced, to blended, coffee came in some many forms. The shop also included some options of teas, smoothies, and even some limited time offers. Let me not forget that they also had some tempting food items on the menu too! Overall, it was worth the small visit and I hope to return soon if able.
