As to your question about images, we got a little lucky in that we never used the Featured Images feature in Wordpress for article images. We always had to place them inside the content. So the migration tool picked up the images we wanted.

I will say this, you’re right about it being quite the undertaking. It took a lot of help from Your Friends @ Medium. And I’d venture to say that they learned some things from our insane migration that will help them with future migrations. At this point, I’m glad it’s over. It was far more successful than I had anticipated, having migrated WP-to-WP and MovableType-to-WP at various points in the past.

What’s exciting now is seeing all the new features they’ll be rolling out, which are coming along at a furious pace. It’s fantastic.
