I definitely agree that Apple’s color inversion could use an upgrade, but its a tough case to say that Tim Cook just doesn’t care about accessibility enough.

He notably said in a recent interview on the subject of accessibility that

“We feel very strongly that everyone deserves an equal opportunity and equal access. So we don’t look at this thing from a return on investment point of view — I’ve been asked that before. The answer is no, I’ve never looked at that. We don’t care about that.”

He also spoke a similar message to shareholders a few years earlier, albeit with a sharper tone,

“When we work on making our devices accessible by the blind, I don’t consider the bloody ROI,”

While the accessibility of Apple products still isn’t perfect, the effort is evidenced not only by the words of the CEO, but also by the wide array of accessibility features offered by Apple. They deserve credit for the amount of attention they have paid to the accessibility of Apple products.
