What is Relic?
What if our bodies functioned at peak ability, disease free, for our entire lives? What if our bodies had what they needed to heal themselves and live without pain? This site is born of the belief that their is an alternative. I believe that there is a way to live a optimal life, without slowly slipping into a brittle, frail, old age. Our bodies are wonderful, mysterious machines that can do so much more than we allow them to.
The past couple of years in my life have led me to many revelations of health, how bodies work, lies from the food industry, and misguided science that is effecting our lives and well-being. Chronic diseases are killing us, and I simply want to shed some light on a way of living where disease is not inevitable.
I have the desire to spark doubt in people’s minds of what they have known about food and health and lifestyles. I want to look back at how we used to do things, how we used to prepare and eat food, and how it all has affected our lives and health and well-being.
I am no doctor, I am not licensed in any way yet. However, in my short 28 years, I have learned so much that has changed my life personally, and I believe that my experiences and the things I have discovered can help others too. As of today, I am a manager at Natural Grocers, where I have learned more than I could have imagined just working at a grocery store. Two weeks ago, I started a course to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner through the Nutritional Therapy Association, where I am studying anatomy, physiology, and the works of people such as Dr. Weston Price and Dr. Francis Pottenger.
Just a couple of things before we start. Everything I have learned and read, and from personal experimentation, I speak from the view of an omnivorous diet. I eat meat and animal fats, limit my consumption of grains and empty carbs, and try to avoid sugar as much as humanly possible. My posts will come from that viewpoint, and if that’s not your thing, that’s fine! Take what you want from this, and leave the rest. Find what works best for you.
