Did Biodun Fatoyinbo Rape Busola Dakolo?

Or is Sensationalism and Twitter raping our brain?

From the bizarre, inexplicable and to the most flabbergasting occurrences in the era of catastrophic human stupidity.

In this world preoccupied with texting or twittering — the idea of dancing to whatever people think is going to give them a voice, people’s perspectives are short, bearing false witness is preparation for and acceptance of evil or ill by the general population. I can’t teach you to be wise but I can tell you how not to be foolish. If you’re observant and intellectually perceptive, you know that “foolishness” is judging a person based on one side of the story.

Note, not “a” conspiracy as in conspiracy theories, those arguments for what might go right or wrong that lead some people like Biodun Fatoyinbo to do some insane, immoral, and wrong things. Sickening as those things are (or might be), there is another massive evil that is part of our culture(beyond rape and false allegation), the stratagem is orbiting around us, evidently governed by no one, and hazardous not to some metaphysical world, however to specific people — you. Every one of you. Also, me. I genuinely question that any professor, a student of history, leader, politicians (from any nation or locale), scholar (from any religion), sat down one day and thought, Let’s see, people are lazy and they like to be “busy” about pretty much nothing or better said, hardworking on things that don’t matter.

So let’s give them sensationalism and then the internet. Once they’ve adopted those (and which of us hasn’t?), we’ll start shrinking their senses: preceding. We’ll transform Time to Tweet. Then banality will begin, People will relinquish their ability to think, they’ll post (“scandalous” videos or blogs). They’ll react, not respond. What they post or how they react will be shallow, stupid and ultimately barbaric. We’ll kill off beauty, and therefore truth, and if we trivialise humour, substitute travesty for parody, exempla gratia, we will obstruct “them” from ever realising the beauty and truth. They will be well-fed and clothed barbarians with the latest smartphones.

Once we have the thoughtless barbarians sold on the concept of knee-jerk reactions and the importance of all things instant like a teenage boy having an orgasm, we’ll be able to sell them anything from the illusion of entitlement to the illusions of rape, from the fantasy of uniqueness and the foolishness of essence to thoughtless and loveless pleasures like “tweeting.” (No one person could have made this up). But our engagement with Time and Twitter have evolved, and the change continues to transcend, despite some people becoming tired of the constant gimmick intrusion into their lives, of the twittery illusion of importance or meaning, and of the sometimes thoughtless, premature ejaculation of the Internet (a medium, a wonderful medium, but a medium that overuse can lead to incurable stupidity or long-term brain damage).

Whether it’s an “Apostle” telling his congregation to vote for a thief, or a Pastor telling his congregation to eat grass; Busola Dakolo accusing Biodun Fatoyinbo of rape in 2019, or the bunch of verified clowns disguised as “celebrities” and “influencers” making themselves judge and jury over a one-sided story (which may be true or bluff), we have a serious problem with “premature ejaculation” in Nigeria.

All those who want to avoid utilising their brain in this devolution to twittery barbarism use the excuse that he has been accused several times by different women “therefore” he is guilty.

Why are people always eager to cast aspersions over allegations? This is a rape “allegation”, meaning the accuser has the prima facie, and there is also a reasonable doubt the accused is innocent.‬ A classic movie that best showcases this concept is (12 angry men). If he truly did those things he will get his comeuppance. Are we just so obsessed with the word ”rape” that we don’t bother to think anymore? With this dangerous precedence, not only will it be easy for men to be framed with rape allegations but everyone gets entangled in the web of incurable stupidity.

Here is how the Bible admonishes us to respond to juicy gossips and sensationalism like this,

Listening and Doing

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, — James 1:19

Peace and love.
