Douglas, Sartre wrote some great one liners. I love "Life is a bitch, & then you die" & "Hell is other people".
But his philosophy of the absurd is absurd.
Life is lived in relation to other people & circumstances. It has the meaning we give it, in addition to the meaning we receive from society.
To think otherwise is solipsism.
The waiter is not just the performance of his job. He has a life.
Sartre proves how silly philosophy can be if you push it too far.
