Dead Bodies

I’ve been fortunate and thus far have not found any dead bodies. But I did willfully choose to not see my father “one last time” the night he passed away in the ICU, because I wanted to remember him as he was. But I have seen open casket funerals.

I once helped clean-up after an estate sale/auction for an elderly couple who had passed away with no family. Barring being forced by external forces, I will never do that again. To see how… Petty and irrelevant our lives are to others. To see lives reduced to pieces bought and pieces going into the trash… Sobering was an understatement.

But yet, I really think we do our children a disservice by not letting them see “we are born, and we die.” I think it would help people better understand “we are all just humans in the end” and limit some of the rampant ignorant fear type hatred we have here in the US.

And, nice article. Serious “food for thought.”
