Are Jesus and God the same?

Who is The First and The Last?

“Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.”
Isaiah 44:6 KJV

In this verse God tells us that:

1- He is the King of Israel, his redeemer, the Lord of hosts.

2- He is THE FIRST AND THE LAST.

3- There is NO God beside Him.

“Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last. Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.”
Isaiah 48:12‭-‬13 KJV

In this part God is saying that Israel is His called, which means that Who is speaking is again the God of Israel.

The God of Israel identify Himself one more time as THE FIRST AND THE LAST, and He tells us that His hand “hath laid the foundation of the earth…”, as in the next two Bible verses:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”
John 1:1–3 KJV
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
John 1:1–14 KJV

Now we clearly see that God created all things through the Word, which was God Himself and that He dwelt among us.

And then in Revelation God ultimately reveals us Who is the FIRST AND THE LAST:

“And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive
Revelation 2:8 KJV

Finally we have the conclusion that JESUS CHRIST is God when He identify THE FIRST AND THE LAST as the One Who was dead, and IS alive, as it is written:

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures”
1 Corinthians 15:3–5

Finally one more verse proving that Jesus is God:

“And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen ; and have the keys of hell and of death.”
Revelation 1:17‭-‬18 KJV
