Content Used to Be King. Now It’s the Joker.

My freelance career has been spent on the design side of publishing in making content look good. I’m an art director/designer. I hadn’t really invested much thought into why I’ve often began to read an article only to get a sinking feeling midway in, that the content is obviously intended to support the perspective ambition of an advertiser, etc. Now that my writing interest have evolved and I’m getting involved a bit in the editorial side of publishing, I must say that I genuinely appreciate your willingness, Amy, to paint this honest verbal portrait of the magazine publishing industry. I thank you especially, for telling your story and for making that list.
