Read your agreements…. just saying.
The second point to my research is that if the information being gathered was being used to manipulate content for political use than I’m completely against that. One example of research manipulation to alter a story is the case of Christopher Wylie who worked for Cambridge Analytica, his team gathered data in mischievousways. They then passed the data to psychologist who would build a plan for designers to create videos for websites and blogs that would appeal to a group of people. This micro targeting was a new approach because the goal was to pursue voters as a personality with data that suited their interest. In conclusion research integrity is what I stand for, read your agreements and don’t use the excuse that users rarely read agreements to justify not knowing the website is using your information.
