“Tell me about yourself?” “What line of business are you in?” “Can you tell me a bit more about the company?” “What kind of clients do you deal with?” “What do you do?”
Do you feel pressured when faced with these kinds of questions?
I know I did! Here’s what I used to think back then, “They are asking me to impress them!”
In ‘SALES’ we call this the qualifying process!
However, this process is not limited to the sales profession! All of us do it on a daily basis.
You get an interview call, the HR is immediately asking you questions to qualify you for a face to face interview, and you’re asking the same about the job and the company. You’re talking to a client, he/she asks you about the clients you’ve worked with, the projects you’ve done, etc. Or you could be a guy to a girl, a girl talking to a guy and you’re thinking about going out with him/her but you want to know more!
