While some people demand to be trusted when the evidence and proof of being trustworthy is objectively absent, most of us prefer showing ourselves in words and actions to be of the type of character which is worth trusting.

When our behavior is recognized for being respectable, it is far more likely to be a figurative door opener to deeper connections. When this trust ends up being communicated to us verbally and maybe additionally with rewards, it feels good, maybe really good with different emotions we experience.

That should be no surprise.

There is huge pleasure in life to be obtained from getting deserved trust,” the late businessman, investor and philanthropist Charlie Munger said.

Yes, there are nefarious people who addictively enjoy being trusted after they manipulate and con others, yet that’s not what this particular article is about.

This time you’re investing reading today is about being of upstanding character and being deemed by others (not ourselves) deserving of trust because of us doing what is ethical or moral and that being recognized as being honorable, admirable and attractive qualities.

When we are subsequently granted people’s belief because they can relax around us as not being a threat, we may be granted access to a warmer reception, assistance, opportunities and desired rewards that trusting interactions and relationships often bring.

So what Munger came to learn, believe and feel makes perfect sense.

There absolutely is “huge pleasure (whether we experience it consciously or subconsciously in the moment)” of receiving the gift of “deserved trust” from someone or groups of people in our personal and professional lives (workplace, business, government, media, etc).

Are what we’re doing today, right now and in the collectiveness of our decisions and behavior, moving us towardsor away from that “deserved” and trust we crave and maybe “need” and the “huge pleasure” that accompanies it?
