One of Morocco’s most visited tourist attractions is Majorelle Garden (Jardin Majorelle) which lies in the heart of Gueliz, Hivernage in Morocco’s Imperial City of Marrakech. Since Majorelle Garden featured in the 1997 Chelsea Flower Show in London, this stunning site has consistently received thousands of tourists from around the world; majorly from Europe and the United States. If you are a lover of colors and flowers, you need to experience the beauty of the Majorelle Garden in Morocco.

The Majorelle Garden is celebrated for its comely colorful scenery and its history. It was designed in 1924 by a French expatriate painter, Jacques Majorelle who had relocated to Morocco in 1919 to find solutions to his heart problems. During his early years of residence in Morocco, Jacques Majorelle, an avid plant collector and painter, decided to express his love for nature by creating what would become a major tourist destination in Morocco.

Jacques beautified his garden with stunning heart-stopping marble pools, banana trees bamboo groves beautiful pathways, coconut palms and many more features. Jacques made a statement with the design of the garden; painting most physical features in the famous Majorelle Blue (a dark blue which gained its name from its excessive use in the Majorelle Garden) with a mix of other primary colors adding to the aesthetics of Jardin Majorelle. Unsurprisingly, the Majorelle Garden, rather than all his paintings put together, was Jacques Majorelle’s masterpiece.
