It’s time Marketers started to influence Robots!

Raymond Sellars: Alex, we need to work together here, because I’m the only one with the technology to keep you alive.

RoboCop: Dead or alive, you’re coming with me.

This bit from #RoboCop pretty much sums up what impact robots are soon going to have on us. Now I am not talking about humanoids and walking and talking robots… For the time being I am just looking at #Chatbots and Virtual Assistants and gauging how their recommendations are changing the way consumers are behaving.

We all know that customer journey finally comes down to the impact from an interaction and the measurable output from it.

If your brand is looking at sustainable results with a consumer group then you need to have sustainable touch points. In the eco system of AI and IoT and everything cognitive, there is no denying that robots in the form of chatbots and virtual assistants are playing a key role in sustainable interactions with consumers.

Considering that robotics is in some form being steered by machine learning, what these robots get exposed to in the form of continuous information is going to have a major play on how they function with a consumer.

In simple words machine learning and AI will ensure that every new data fed to a robot will influence its’ decision making.

This makes me wonder — what can we feed the robots so they can influence a consumer decision towards a certain brand’s favor?

Will Marketers soon have to advertise to robots, ensure that they store relevant information on a brand so that when the situation is apt these robots can actually retrieve contextual information and share with a consumer group?

The prospect of this sounds interesting…. A new target audience for marketers, an unexplored territory…

[shuts down]

Tony Stark: Jarvis! Jarvis? Don’t leave me, buddy…
