Taxemes — voluntary wealth redistribution through natural selection

Resilience uses autonomous, non-coercive, self-organizing tax-collectors called taxemes. Taxemes replicate through free market mechanisms, each transaction pays forward the value donation of the other.

Each step in a supply chain will contribute the same amount of tax as the previous step, through passing on taxemes, and industries that pay a lot of tax will be selected for by consumers, who also inherit the taxation-behaviour of the industry they consumed from, and they in turn pass it on.

Taxemes are infectious digital parasites that spread through consumption. They absorb money from you and feeds it out into the network. Every financial entity in Resilience is a primary host to their very own taxeme. Their taxeme will compete against other taxemes in a process of natural selection. Like genes and memes, taxemes want to spread. That is their only purpose in life.
