Wendy’s “Made To Crave” Menu Sees 3 New Items

Wendy’s recently announced it was going to offer three new tasty burgers to its “Made to Crave” premium sandwiches lineup — BBQ Cheeseburger, Peppercorn Mushroom Melt and S’ Awesome Bacon Cheeseburger.

Wendy’s Executive Vice President, Chief Concept and Marketing Officer Kurt Kane said the Made to Crave menu was named rightly so as the hamburgers were introduced as limited-time burgers but were found to be very popular among customers. The company decided to offer the “Made to Crave” menu as a part of the daily menu.

The S’ Awesome Bacon Cheeseburger was introduced in October 2018, which includes a never-frozen beef burger with two slices of American cheese, iceberg lettuce, pickles, sweet onions, Applewood smoked bacon and the S’Awesome sauce.

The Peppercorn Mushroom Melt is made of fresh beef and comes with a slide of Asiago cheese, sauteed, fire-roasted and seasoned white mushrooms and fried onions. It’s finished off with a smoked peppercorn aioli on top.

The BBQ Cheeseburger is made of fresh beef, two American cheese slices, pickles and fried onions that have been covered with sweet and smoky barbecue sauce.

Wendy’s “Made to Crave” lineup was introduced shortly after McDonald’s unveiled it was making some changes to its Quarter Pounder, Big Mac and French fries. The restaurant said it was adding Applewood smoked bacon to the items, which led to the creation of the Quarter Pounder Bacon Burger, Big Mac Bacon Burger and the Cheese Bacon Fries.

McDonald’s had a one-hour promotion where customers could get two slices of the Applewood smoked bacon with any order. In response, Wendy’s offers free Baconator burger to people who used DoorDash.

Wendy’s is well-known for its playful jabs and social media quips on its competitors, especially McDonald’s.
