How To Succeed In Life

Success means different things to different people. My definition of success may be a lot different than your definition of success and vice-versa.

In spite of that, I believe that there are certain universal principles if applied correctly will give way to success no matter what field you may be in.

In this video, I touch on 3 of these universal principles that I believe will lead to success in life.

1. Think Big

You might’ve heard at some point that the only limits that exist are the ones in your mind. The problem is that few people have actually graps what that means and what it could potentially mean for how they unknowingly limit themselves by the size of their thoughts.

Since the dawn of time, the people that lived the most successful lives each had thoughts which manifested itself into various forms of greatness.

Small thoughts will not move men into action.

Small thoughts will not alter the status quo.

Small thoughts don’t create legends.

And on and on it goes…

How “big” have you been thinking lately?

Have you been noticing yourself entertain “small” thoughts? If so, CUT THAT OUT!

Step into your power and realize that success is your birthright. Know and believe that you’re meant for great things and nothing less than that.

2. Don’t Be Afraid Of Failure!

You can’t experience success without failure, nor failure without success.

When I was younger, I used to hate failing at things. I was a bit of a perfectionist which was both a gift and a curse at the same time. On one hand, I strived to excel in everything I did. But if I didn’t get it perfect, I would get frustrated.

Over time, I realized that from the time that we’re very young, we’re brought up to believe that it’s wrong to “fail” and we should strive to fail as little as possible. The problem with that is you limit yourself from trying anything new out of fear of failure. Once I overcame my fear of failure, I was able to venture out of my comfort zone and expose myself to new learning experiences.

If you’re still not convinced that failure is good for you, then I highly recommend that you check out my previous blog posts on “The Importance Of Failure” where i dive deeper into the idea of failure and how it can help you get what you want out of life.

3. Have A Positive Mental Attitude

Thou shalt not underestimate the importance of having a positive mental attitude.

“Staying positive” might sound really generic but it’s vitally important and could very well mean the difference between succeeding in life or failing in life.

Let me ask you a question…

When something doesn’t go your way for one reason or another, how do you usually respond?

What about if someone came up to you and started hurling insults at you for no particular reason?

Better yet, what if you’re driving on the road while minding your business and someone comes out of nowhere and cuts you off?

For most people, their initial reaction in most of these situations would be negative. They would feel that they have every right to be upset and pissed off and they won’t waste any time giving the other person a piece of their mind.

But what if I were to tell you that there’s a better way to respond to these situations? In fact, you can prevent these type of responses altogether if you maintain a positive mental attitude.

Let’s face it…there are some people out there that are just jerks for no apparent reason. Also, there will be plenty of times where life happens and things don’t go as intended.

Our power doesn’t lie in outside events. Our power lies in how we choose to respond to these events. And if we choose wisely, we can turn even the most negatively-charged event into a positive experience.

It’s all in how you look at things and if you choose to look at things from a positive perspective, only good things will come of it.

Closing Thoughts

Success is not something reserved for only a handful of people. Anybody with the willpower and drive can go out there and take what’s theirs.

It won’t be easy but it’ll be worth it if you stick with it and you are absolutely relentless in pursuing your goals and aspirations.

Here’s the million-dollar question: Are you willing to do whatever it takes to live a successful life?
