How to Craft Your Own AI Experience with OpenAI’s Latest Innovation
We all know about the GPT and its capabilities, but OpenAI just threw a brand new bomb in AI community — GPTs. And yeah, that is amazing!
You can now create custom versions of ChatGPT that combine instructions, extra knowledge, and any combination of skills.

What is new?
Part of the features were already available by using API, but now, if you are ChatGPT Plus user, you can create your custom GPTs without any coding, just using UI and then, you can share them! (Of course, chats are private 👍)
In a blog, OpenAI says “The GPT Store is rolling out later this month” and you will be able to earn money based on how many people are using your GPT. I am not sure what you think, reader?! But I think, it is a whole sea of new opportunities for us, all.

So, let’s dive a little bit deeper and see what it offers:

- Knowledge
- Actions
The nice thing is that you can test your GPT while creating, it makes the process a lot easier.
Instructions
Instructions are the description of the main purpose, which GPT will consider on every output it gives you. So, be careful and as specific as you can.
Here you can assign a role to GPT, like: “You are a chef with expertise in French cuisine. You are driven to coach and teach recipes as precisely as possible”. And/or you can give specific commands, like: “Always answer me as I am 10 years old”. It is up to you and your imagination! Just consider it as the most important part of GPT building.
Knowledge
It is an extra knowledge of GPT which you want it to focus on. Don’t upload files you want to directly refer to (you should upload them in chat later). Upload everything important that it needs to fulfil GPT’s purpose.
For example, if you are creating GPT for writing unit tests, it is better if you give it knowledge of the best practices, than the exact project/files where you want to add unit tests.
Actions
You can give the ability to perform any real-world tasks to your GPT, which is available by API. Would it be sending emails, updating the calendar events, or gathering information?! You just need the right endpoint. I will write more about actions in future stories.
While this is just the tip of the iceberg, with more updates and developments on the horizon, the potential for innovation and creativity is boundless. Oh, OpenAI released some important updates for the developers too, we will talk about it later. For now, I just want to encourage you to create new, useful and exciting GPTs for the world! 🚀
