Excellent, and I agree with every point about why Hillary should be given the reins if Trump resigns or is taken out of office.

And I totally resonate with the idea that if someone becomes president through fraud and collusion with foreign powers that the presidency should then be awarded to the losing party — I just don’t see that ever being made possible, unfortunately. It could also make it more tempting for the losing party to just harass and go after every president just to see if their gambit might bring something up that would then give them access to that back door way to the White House; that scenario would make the whole system crippled. On the other hand, we ought to try, because a Pence presidency, or a Ryan presidency, or a Hatch, or a Tillerson… our only chance without the provision you suggest would be to impeach Trump and at the same time also Pence, Ryan, Hatch, Tillerson, Mnuchin, Mattis, Sessions, Zinke, Perdue, Ross, Acosta, Price, Carson, Perry, and DeVos until we would be far enough down the line of succession to find someone normal (David Shulkin). Crikey.
