Love it! Real fucking talk. I’m so sick of being told that I should strive to be the best at everything. It’s not only impossible, but exhausting. I see this same push from parents in my classroom who want their kids to always get A’s, always be the star athletes, and always be selected to speak at school functions. The result is a bunch of stressed out kids who overestimate their abilities and struggle to accept their shortcomings. Not to mention over medicated because many of them are on meds because so many of us adults tend to forget that “ normal” kids wiggle and struggle with sitting still for extended periods of time while listening to utterly boring topics. Hell, if that’s , case, I need to be medicated. … oh wait… I am. lol!
