A fun Pre-Code mystery thriller with the familiar theme of the investigative reporter outsmarting the police. There is even an intermission for the audience to discuss the clues and make their guesses as to Whodunit. Will you solve the mystery first?

As for the plot, a bank official, whom a doctor had earlier hypnotized to obtain money from the bank’s vault, is found murdered. The movie has a star studded cast. Stuart Erwin is the newspaperman and France Dee is the doctor’s daughter. Together they refuse to accept conclusions of the police and solve the crime.
