These past two months has been unbearably sad, nothing seem fun anymore. Whenever I try to explain to people how I feel they end up saying “Ane you will be fine”. But for how long will I be in this phase, I hope to get out soon. I know we had our ups and downs when you were alive, but anty egbi I miss you really bad. Going home these days scares the shit out of me, because I know I will be going to an empty house. I can’t seem to watch the program we watch together “The Johnson’s” because the movie is one of the constant reminder of all the time we spent together.

I know everyone is mourning you in different ways, I can’t seem to cry, I am drowning in sorrows. I get scared at night because I was so used to sleeping on the same bed with you, can’t seem to stay alone these days. Not to sound too selfish, I miss the constant questioning of how you ask me whether I’ve eaten and my response was always “I’m watching my weight” and you’d go by saying “Don’t let ulcer get to you” even with my answer you always tell me to eat, even if it’s just a spoon. I missed every moment we shared together.

I remember the evening gist you and I always had about how my wedding preparations was gonna be like, about how you say you’d prepare your special akara and kunu-geda, how you and daddy would plan on increasing my bride price(lol) and how you’d make that day a memorable one. Mama this one year I stayed with you taught me a lot about my extended family and I have no regrets staying with you till your last breath. I really miss your presence 😰😰 I miss you mama.

The week before you passed away you prayed for me that “with the way I love traveling, I will go to places my parents never went to”. I called you while I was in Gombe you didn’t seem so well but you told me not to worry that you will be okay. But you left for a better place. Enu Maria I am glad I stayed with you and I know you’re resting in the blossom of the lord. Till we meet again.

We all miss you 😘

Adieu Mami
