Making Your First Juice(Web Page)

Alright, so let’s get your feet wet, the only way to get good at programming, is by programming. Alright, so I like using the command like because its quicker and less clicks, okay, go ahead and open open up your terminal shell if you’re on the mac and command prompt for windows. I’m using a mac so go ahead and cd into the directory you want your folder saved in like so:

"cd desktop" : Changes the file location to desktop

Now we will create a folder inside that directory like so:

"mkdir Juice" : This creates our juice folder

Then cd into our Juice folder like so:

"cd Juice" : Opens the Juice folder

Next we create the file needed to display our first content on the browser, go ahead and type this:

"touch index.html" : this creates the file needed, now when you ‘ls’ in that folder, the file created is displayed

Now open up your text editor/IDE(integrated development environment), in my case I just type atom in my terminal/cmd prompt. Now navigate to the folder from your text editor as though opening a new file and open the “juice folder”. Double click the folder and open the index.html in it, it should be blank, now its time for some code finally:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="ie=edge">
<title>Document</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.3.7/css/bootstrap.min.css">
</head>
<body>
<div class="jumbotron text-center">
<h1>Hello Mr Too Much Sauce</h1>
</div>
</body>
</html>

Finally, open a new tab in your choice browser window and paste the file path into the browser, hit enter and boom!There you have it, you just created your first web page!

Beautiful thing is, anybody can wake up and do this, the barrier to entry is very low, only dedication and discipline. Let me know if you have any questions, enjoy!
