Bitcoin’s Game Has Changed: Understanding Game Theory From the Worlds Greatest Poker Player

We should now want all players to be aware of something.

There has been an alteration of the game, and the players in it. A Re-Velation.

We now can see two distinct divisions between players and groups has arisen.

Group 1: Core

One the one side we have Core. Core has been relatively and noticeable transparent, with their agenda, and consistent with their decisions that they claim are inline with it. They are publicly verifiable workers that act under the name of security for bitcoin. They are easy to get a hold of if you are asking sincere questions or giving sincere criticism or advice (whether warranted or not). Core’s position is security over scaling, and this is clear to everyone as their motto. For proof of their transparency we look here: https://bitcoincore.org/

Group 2: Unknown

Now we have another group that has arisen. They have been re-vealed, whether by nefarious players or the benevolent, whether by themselves or their enemies. We now know they exist.

I am going to describe them to us, so that all players understand what we can see.

This group is hidden, and secret. They are opaque. Their agenda was hidden but revealed, they are big-blockers that want to scale bitcoin against the wishes of core (that openly claims to be the guardians of bitcoin’s security and honesty). We do not know exactly who all is in this group. We do not fully know what they have done or what they are doing. We do not know their motivations; we do not know what they are capable of. We know that they are deceptive, we know that they are tricky. We know they claim power, we know they claim wealth. We know they lead the ignorant masses with their agenda.

A New Game

We can now see that there was previously two groups locked in an equilibrium, and for whatever reason neither group could/would reveal the hidden group. But something changed and now they are revealed.

Power changed.

The implication here is now that the equilibrium for one group has changed, the large equilibrium between both major players is now likely to change.
