Why The World is So Irrational
If you were alone in existence you naturally would see only rationality. The problem of irrationality arises in relationship with others. This happens because we all need a basis with which to co-operate and therefore we must (at least tacitly) agree on SOMETHING.
And that thing is money.
Money allows us to valuate important decisions in our daily lives (although people might not like to agree with such an assertion (but remember they are irrational!)!).
Money, I theorize, is embedded in our core beliefs. We can see this when we observe severe drug addicts or persons with other mental disorders (brain injury etc.) in which their computer (brain) is clearly malfunctioning yet their want and lust for money stays wholly intact.
To a severe addict money is almost perfectly comparable to drugs, and they are constantly scanning their environment for it.
Money is deeply ingrained in our pleasure and preference processes which function far deeper than what we see as our conscious and logical processes. We are far more emotional about money than logical.
We can also note that money is universal to all mankind over all of our history because it was necessary for evolution to occur to the degree that it has.
The problem with money (historically and today) is that it has never been stable in value over (very) long periods of time. This means that our (collective) consciousness is rooted in core beliefs that are themselves intrinsically unstable.
This is a problem, which might not seem obvious to “otherwise intelligent and rational thinkers”, because we extrapolate our logic from our core beliefs in relation to our experience (other “rational” thinkers might think our logic comes from somewhere apart from our core conditioning).
It is therefore the first and final goal of a stage 1 civilization to idealize our money systems and as each of you spend your days working on problems FAR from the direction of idealizing our money systems, you live as a product of this instability of our value metric (In other words the levation Ideal Money is the rational pursuit for each of us).
(Only!) Once there is the levation of Ideal Money can begin to become rational thinkers.
