Kanye West 2015 Time 100 list (Time.com)

Oh how the mighty have fallen. The recent multiple public outbursts by Kanye West on Twitter and TMZ Live has went viral across the world. Some see it as Kanye becoming a philosopher or, “free thinker” with deeper meanings to his statements and tweets while others, like me, see him as someone who’s lost touch with the middle class by spending too much time in Calabasas drinking the Kardashian family Kool-Aid. Whatever the case is, it is clear Kanye is not the Kanye everybody grew up listening to.

I remember growing up listening to Kanye West’s first two albums coming home from high school. Songs like Heard ’Em Say, Touch the Sky, Crack Music, Jesus Walks and All Falls Down shaped me into the person I am today. His message really hit home with me back then. It felt like someone understood the plight and was basically saying, “You can overcome any obstacle put in front of you.” I was motivated to change the world because he made me believe I could. Hell, I was with him when he said on live TV that George Bush didn’t care about Black people. I truly believe until recently he was speaking up for me and the black community. But something happen to him where I don’t recognize this man anymore. This isn’t the guy that inspire a generation to wear polo shirts and backpacks while speaking on relevant issues in the black community. It is sad for me as a fan to see him like this today. Contrary to popular opinion, he might be in the sunken place but there is hope he can get out. …

You hear that? That sound? It is PES grasping for air. If you don’t know already, Konami and UEFA partnership will end after the final of the 2018 UEFA Champions League. This is a DEATH blow for PES fans who craved to have their game compete with the top dog.

The PES franchise has always play second fiddle to EA’s FIFA franchise. It was known more for better gameplay and less for its realism unlike FIFA. In recent years, EA has been purchasing exclusivity rights and licensing deals from the top leagues around the world like the Premier League and the Bundesliga. This has always been a sticking point especially between casuals deciding which game they should spend their money on. …

It is safe to say that social media has taken over our lives. According to a Facebook sponsored IDC study conducted last year, 79% of people from 18–44 check their smartphones within the first 15 minutes of waking up. Meaning before turning on the TV or even brushing their teeth, people are checking their email and various social media accounts for any news they may have missed while sleeping. It wasn’t that long ago where the only outlet to get news in the morning was through traditional media like TV and radio. …

For the past few months, I started posting my gameplay of various video games on my Instagram page. I never thought too much about it until my friends started to comment on the posts. I really didn’t take it serious until I went to a party and my friend started a conversation based on the video I posted about Assassin’s Creed: Unity. He loved the 15 second video and wanted to know my opinions on whether the game was good. It was then I realize that Instagram could be a good forum for video games to show off their content.

After researching some of the big video companies (Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Activision, etc.), I found out they either didn’t have an Instagram profile or it wasn’t utilized correctly in promoting their video games’ capabilities. Even though 15 seconds may seem like not enough time to show off a video game, it is really all the time you need. …
