P.K. Subban: Beyond Hockey

P.K. Subban, defenseman for the Montreal Canadiens, embodies everything that a sports franchise could ask for in their players. He recently pledged to donate $10 million over the next seven years to Montreal Children’s Hospital. The donation will be used in part for a fund called P.K.’s Helping Hands, which will help families struggling financially with a child’s illness. The hospital has decided to name its atrium in honour of P.K. Subban. According to the hospital, this is “the biggest philanthropic commitment by a sports figure in Canadian history.”
