Personal Culture:

  1. What is your favorite band? Jukebox the Ghost
  2. What is the genre of music you listen to most? Electronic Dance Music / Soul
  3. What is your favorite pastime? Writing
  4. How do you spend most of your free time? Twitter
  5. What is the most irksome thing in your day-to-day? Failing to motivate myself out of screen staring
  6. What do you admire? The humanity in everyone
  7. Where do you work? The University of Minnesota, College of Pharmacy
  8. Is there anywhere you’d rather work? Where? I would still rather work in Aerospace
  9. What do you do at work? Build and support a web application that automates speech processing for pharmaceutical research purposes
  10. What would you rather do? I’d rather contribute more directly to research, rather than building an automation system, but it’s alright.

Stress:

  1. What is your biggest source of stress? Money / work-life balance
  2. What scares you most about the future? The possibility of giving up on my dreams
  3. Do you think more about your present, past, or future? Present, with a keen eye on the future. The past only to inform the present.
  4. Do you actively combat your stressors, or keep your distance? Still keep my distance more than I should. I have gotten better at keeping my brain chemistry in order with decent eating and exercise, though.
  5. Have you been successful in your life? Not yet.
  6. What is success? Success is finding joy in what you do, and doing it well.
  7. Does it feel like you have good friends that are a large part of your life? Yes.
  8. Are there actually good friends that are a large part of your life? Yes. Yes yes.
  9. Where did those friends, if any, come from? High school, college, and now even a work buddy or two.
  10. Do you worry about money? Why? Yes, it’s hard to find the balance between stress from work and having enough money to pay all of the bills.

Happiness:

  1. What is a hobby you would like to get in to? Survivalist camping and also Paragliding
  2. What is one type of thing you would like to do more of? Writing and other artly endeavors
  3. Who holds the most sway over your happiness? My loved ones
  4. What’s something that you’ve discovered to be enjoyable, recently? 80's action flicks
  5. Are you happier than the people around you on a daily basis? Probably not
  6. How much time do you spend actively engaged in an activity per day? 8 hours, but this includes going out or entertaining others
  7. How much time do you spend with your mind wandering per day? Every moment I’m not actively engaged
  8. On a scale from 1 to 10, ten being most positive, how positive are your wandering thoughts? 4
  9. How often do you relax? Twice or three times a week?
  10. What separates relaxation from the rest of your time? Actively engaged, but not with any of my stressors.

Movement:

  1. Are you making progress towards your goals? Slowly
  2. Are you living where you want to be living? Certainly for now. Minneapolis is the best city in the country.
  3. Do you often see the people you want to see? Pretty frequently, though I still miss everyone who I love from a distance.
  4. Are you in a job that is along your career path? Close, maybe just the wrong field of research!
  5. Have you made enough money to finance your goals? Em, probably not.
  6. Are your friends successful? Some are! More every day.
  7. Are you a better person than you were before? I’m certainly more zen. Though being at peace with the turmoil around you sometimes strikes me as terribly assholish.
  8. Would your loved ones say that you are a better person than you were before? Some of them!
  9. Would your colleagues say that you are a good person? Probably, although I am as publicly human with them as possible.
  10. What is your end goal? Do something I’m proud of that will stand a short test of time.

Silly things:

  1. What’s your favorite toothpaste? Arm & Hammer w/ Peroxide, I think.
  2. How many pairs of pants do you own? 20
  3. Do you have any socks with holes in them? A couple, but more frightening are the lonesome socks who have no partner. They are desperate and will do anything.
  4. Do you have a roommate? Hahaha funny story. For the purpose of this question, yes.
  5. What is your favorite soda? Reed’s Extra Ginger Brew
  6. What is your favorite liquor? Tanqueray Gin
  7. What do you read for fun? Classics, biographies of the authors of classics, the occasional sci-fi novel
  8. What is your favorite video game? Kerbal Space Program
  9. What is your favorite T.V. show? Oh so many. Parks and Rec, Frisky Dingo, Bob’s Burgers, Sealab 2021, Broad City
  10. Are you on a diet? Only if being awesome is a diet.
