Credit card signatures, what are they good for?
Tyler Hedrick

I use them as a proxy to see exactly how badly my signature is deteriorating with age. Much like an EKG, they seem to be gradually progressing to a flat line. Metaphor?

The other thing that shocked me was when I was talking to my bank about what constitutes a valid check. (You may remember these, they are slips of paper that promise some funds to someone.) Their answer: “We’ll accept pretty much anything that remotely resembles a check.” Confidence: uninspired.
