A few too many thoughts about this ‘article’ to publish. One thing that is frustrating is how a lot of people try to frame racism (and sexism) as an American and/or white problem. There is nothing uniquely American about these things and racism and definitely sexism are far worse in most countries. That doesn’t excuse terrible things that happen in the US or mean we shouldn’t work hard and fight for equality and fairness. But, we won’t have much success until we accept that these are people problems and people of all colors and creeds are guilty of them. I can’t answer how any person should protest, but I would say voting is a start and that was apparently too much for Kaepernick to handle. I would also say focusing on the positive changes that have taken place and pointing out all the good that has come from them instead of constantly focusing on negatives will likely yield better results as well.
