Step 1: If you haven’t already backup the following files: Wallet.dat, Masternode.conf and Peers.dat. To find these go to search bar/function in your machine and type %APPDATA% This will lead you to a folder named ‘Rhenium’- they are inside here. If you are using Mac search using this: Command+Shift+g and type~/Library then enter. Look for folder application support then Rhenium.

The highlighted files above are the ones we recommend backing up before proceeding.

Step 2: After backing up, delete all of the files within the ‘Rhenium’ folder sleaving it empty, then go to desktop and delete launch icon also.

Step 3: Download the new Zerocoin wallet from our Github here: https://github.com/Rheniumnetwork/Rhenium/releases/tag/v3.0.6

(WIN/MAC/LINUX)

Step 4: Once downloaded open the zip file using the correct software and extract/drag to your desired location.

Step 5: Launch the wallet and leave open for a few seconds then close.

Step 6: Once again, search for %APPDATA% (or Mac method in step 1) and enter the ‘Rhenium’ folder. You will see it is again full of files- simply replace the Wallet.dat, Masternode.conf and Peers.dat with the ones you backed up earlier.

This window prompt will appear for each file you want to replace.

Step 7: Relaunch wallet and allow to sync! Your coins may take a while to appear and are not lost if they don’t show immediately. Once the wallet is sync’d you are good to go!

Important points:

  • When sending to Crypto Bridge ensure you generate a new deposit address as this will prevent coins from being sent to older wallet.
  • In order to deposit/withdraw from Crypto Bridge you will need to use the Zerocoin wallet.
  • Send/withdraw a small amount first before sending larger amounts.
  • Your coins are never ‘lost’ they can be found any time on the older chain if for some reason you cannot set up the Zerocoin wallet correctly.
  • Do not send coins from your Zerocoin wallet to an older wallet and vice versa.
  • Zerocoin kicks in at block 75k- “Z” features in wallet won’t function until then.
