The chain is 3 months old, we have seen Block Producers do all kind of huge mistakes like, (limited list):
- Not producing for hours
- using very slow servers connected to limited bandwidth
- not implementing ECAF orders resulting in funds stolen
- Doing nothing to non-compliant standby BPs
This ranking doesn’t include the above.
I co-founded EOS Amsterdam, and we are working on a Project: The Real KPI’s, because Block Producers should produce blocks and provide the chain to the world. The first one can be measured by the computational speed of signing transactions (1 EOS is x ms CPU/bandwidth) therefore this is very relevant, availability and by not missing blocks, the second (providing the chain to the world) by eg, roundtrip times of the API.
We are building the software development team now to start building this project.
The Chinese BP community is very different than the Western community. This ranking is based on western criteria.
I agree that voter concentration needs to be analyzed, but I do not agree that voter diversity is a good measurement. Some whales own the Block Producers and vote for themselves and their friends and do not look at the real KPI’s. But this article also doesn’t.
