I like your chart, it reminds me of the technology development hype cycle (see linked graph.) Separately and regrettably, another dynamic that can impact creative endeavors is the mere function of talking about a project as it nears completion can actually reduce the likelihood that it will be completed. I think the psychology at work here is that the talking about a project begins to feel like delivering the project and perhaps increases the “been there, done that” will power killer. Since many projects are about communicating/exploring/packaging a cool idea, not allowing yourself to discuss the project until it is finished may help channel your expression into actually finishing the project and communicating your original intention. “Shut up and color” may not be as mean-spirited as it seems.
