Bernie and his followers do not represent me. I was the older woman who put her faith in Hillary Clinton only to now hear her bashed by Dem leadership. Nevertheless, we are the base of the Dem Party and turn out TV off each time Sanders is responding on an issue where I would expect to see a Democrat. I saw the party kick Hillary under the bus in 2008 in favor of a charismatic young African American. I worried about how her supporters were treated then. However, I am now hearing many women complain that they can’t even get a message to party leaders. Sunday we saw Dems attack HRC when she got more votes than any white man in history. Why is this? When she is attacked. none of you have the courage to stand up for her. I am ashamed of the party over this. Now, this Sanders overture has me at the brink of finding a new political home. Until all this resolves itself, I will donate my money to individual candidates or Onward Together. We women want to be respected and heard. The way you treat HRC is a symbol of your respect to women, the real base of this party. If you were smart, you would be yelling about voter suppression in the Rust Belt, or the fact that the NSA cannot guarantee that votes were not changed in the election. As Rachel Maddow said, “Nobody wants to know the truth.” I trust you will consider these viewpoints. Joy Gilmore, Louisiana
