My biggest takeaways from this semester of media analysis was probably how biased and how much fake news is a part of our daily lives. Fake news is everywhere and it’s very hard to pick up on, which makes it that much more dangerous. Also, being able to recognize how biased pieces of information and news articles are will help me for the future in the sense that I will always be taking in news information no matter how old I get, and having the skill of being able to recognize such bias will really help me get the the facts and what is the truth.

I enjoyed doing the advertisement pitch and the creation of the print ad because it was a fun and creative way to go about learning about the influences and the thought process of people who create these ads for their jobs.

I think we could’ve done a little less on the advertisement unit because personally I took the least away from that. I really focused and took the most away form the news unit because I believe that is such a bigger part of our life and can have the most impact on how we think and how we go about our daily lives.

To the juniors, I believe you should take this class because media is such a relevant and large part of our lives and is only growing, and having some skills to help pick apart the media will be very beneficial to you.

Some advice to the seniors: don’t procrastinate on blogs, as your grade will definitely show if you did it in one night a 12 AM the day before it was due. The blogs are a big part of your grade and you want to do your best on them!
