Why I’m voting to Leave the European Union
Week 2 – The Big Guns, Wrong Then Wrong Now & Behind In The Polls… Just

Bringing Out The Big Guns, They’re Running Scared
United States President Barack Obama will make on speech tomorrow (this article being written Thursday 21st April) telling us why we should stay in the EU. Now I’m no genius but the level of pessimism in the argument of the Remain side means it’s remarkably easy to predict what he will say. “It’s better to be part of a wider trading bloc, it helps the UK exert its influence”, but no one is suggesting we stop trading with the United States or “The US shares some sovereignty and it works, it’s the price you have to pay”, but they aren’t in the same situation as we are. It has become a common theme that people say “what does Leaving look like?” As if it’s some kind of utopia, the right to govern ourselves and be unified together for common interests eg security and trade but not be in political union and have the accountability to our lawmakers.
Barack Obama is no fan of the British, he is probably, no he IS, the most anti UK president America has ever had (he removed the picture of Winston Churchill at the White House when he got into office). Not only has he been a disaster for change in America but now he wants to lecture us about change in the UK, please. He sought office to change things and has done very little. He’s now going to tell us why little change is good for the UK too. He’s a conman, he gives the perception of change without actually delivering, remind you of anyone? Oh that’s right, our very own Prime Minister David Cameron. Now I’m sure these two men are perfectly fine human beings but they respect and take orders to preserve the status quo. Many of us wanting change do not, not least 6 of his own cabinet ministers. The President and Prime Minister do not want change, after all, they’re both in office so why would they?
We have brought out our own big guns into the debate however with UKIP leader Nigel Farage giving us a speech on Saturday, Leader of the House of Commons Chris Grayling speaking on Sunday, Mayor of London Boris Johnson on Monday and Justice Secretary Michael Gove on Tuesday. It’s all part of a “Brexit Blitz”, getting the simple message out to ordinary voters rather than the vested interests like Goldman Sachs and the CBI like Chancellor George Osborne did when he unveiled the treasury report. The one you see below. Understand it? I doubt anyone does.

Meanwhile the Out campaign have been making a clear case for Brexit, Farage saying our laws should be made in the UK, Grayling saying trade with the UK will be vital for the EU, Johnson saying EU bureaucrats are unaccountable and Gove saying that we’ll be trapped in the EU if we stay. All great arguing points – correct ones by the way – but if we are going to win this though it will be about making the clear, positive case for leaving. That leads to my next point.
They Were Wrong Then And They’re Wrong Now

Those talking the UK down, saying we aren’t good enough, who are these people? Yep, they’re the same ones who said if we didn’t join the Euro the UK would be finished, quite the contrary, in terms of growth the Euro area has got nowhere fast in 17 years, remember the Euro was introduced in 1999.

See that line, hovering slightly above a big fat zero? The one that’s been there for five years now? That’s our precious EU we are told to stay in for “prosperity”. But what about independent nations like China, India, even Australia? China is at around 7%, India is at 7.3% and Australia is currently at a growth rate of 3%. The U.K. Is forecast for 2.1% in 2016. Tying us down to a dwindling trade bloc while the rest of the world grows is not a great way to “invest, trade and create jobs” as Mandelson puts it but instead a way to become irrelevant and non existent.
It’s not only Mandelson, the whole establishment, Kinnock, Major, Blair, Cameron, Ashdown, Clegg etc, are against ordinary decent folk who want a different relationship with our neighbors. That’s why it’s so important to get right, simply settling for less isn’t any way to change things, taking a bold move into independence and creating an example for other nations to follow is.
We’re Losing But The Gap Is Narrowing Further By The Day
The Scottish referendum at this point (2 months to go) had a 15% lead for the No camp according to YouGov. What’s YouGov’s latest EU poll at the same two month mark this time? A 1% lead for Remain. This time last month? A 4% lead. We have taken 3% out of the Remain side in one month, albeit it is just one polling organisation. It is wise now to include that many polls have remain ahead but these were those who got the General Election prediction massive wrong. I wouldn’t hold your breath at these being exactly right, besides we have the good message, that helped the SNP in Scotland and is sure to help us in our campaign.
Another reason is not only our optimistic message but the faltering moves of the Remain side, the majority of voters disapproved of spending nearly £10m of a Pro-EU government leaflet, Tony Blair’s intervention and we await the publics reaction to the Presidents surely Pro-EU intervention.
We have momentum despite us still being behind, we CAN do this. We have to reach as many voters as possible to do it. Make sure to read last weeks post if you haven’t and be sure to read next weeks to keep up to date with the referendum.
Update – Saturday 23rd April
People disliked US President Barack Obama’s Pro EU speech, and with Question Time this week, it’s clear that momentum is still solidly behind our camp. The IN camp are throwing all the big guns at us but the British people are listening to our message instead. Obama stated “we’d be at the back of the queue in any trade deal” agreement if we left. I have to preface that Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Ron Paul, Rand Paul etc have all said they will help to enhance Britain’s relations with the US if we left, some like Ron Paul, say we should leave and others, like Rand Paul, say it was a disaster for us to join in the first place. I need to show you one image very simply of why that is a stupid and ridiculous statement to make.

Trade is not a political decision make by bureaucrats but a decision made by consumers of whether or not to buy a product, needless to say this image shows just why it’s so important that Britain is at the front of the queue and not the back. America and the U.K. Would be stupid not to do a deal with one another.
