I think this is missing a point here.

Yes, it’s GPL. Yes you forked a paid plugin, which it is totally fine. However I feel that it’s misleading people slightly.

You see, Bloom, you pay for it, download and install the plugin and it works. You don’t have to jump through any hoops to get it working.

Your fork of Bloom adds a form, that prevents the user from using the plugin without first signing up to Leadpages. Bloom didn’t do that out of the box, did it?

You have to add an activation code to get the plugin to work, who controls the activation code? Can you revoke access?

This was why it was removed from the WordPress repository, as plugins should work straight out of the box, rather than require “activation”.
