Here are the 2014 sources I found at the intersection of DAOs and blockchain. Vitalik introduces the term decentralized autonomous organization / DAO. At times, he speaks of distributed governance.

Additionally, there is the essay collection From Bitcoin to Burning Man and Beyond to consider. My copy is on its way in the mail.

There are also the histories of BitCongress, BitShares, MemoryCoin, and Eris to consider. I will return to these projects another time. Down the line I will dive into the deep history of Maker, as well.

Finally, there is the full output of Philip Sheldrake to consider. There are three links to his work above. In one, he mentions the transpersonal in connection with DAOs. Will Stanislav Grof come into this story at some point? Grof would then lead back to blockchain via Jamie Wheal.

**Note on the Ethereum whitepaper. Vitalik shared a draft via email on November 27, 2013. The public version came out later, in 2014.
